Ronnie Lee Keel
Veteran vocalist/musician/songwriter/entertainer Ron Keel's amazing
career has taken him around the world and across the borders that
separate the styles of music that he has performed and recorded. From
the concrete jungles of heavy metal & arena rock to the dirt roads and
backwoods of country music & southern rock, Keel is an artist who has
been there, done that, and still has a lot to prove.
As frontman for the bands KEEL, Steeler, Saber Tiger, Fair Game, &
IronHorse (he also spent a brief moment in time with Black Sabbath),
Ron Keel sold millions of albums, toured the world as a headliner and
opening act for icons such as Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi,
Van Halen, and many more, plus notched several hits on radio and MTV
including classics "The Right To Rock", "Because The Night", "Tears Of
Fire", and "Somebody's Waiting".

DR. STEVE GADD:
Steve Gadd , Patrice Rushen, and Abraham Laboriel
BOSTON , September 12, 2005 – Abraham Laboriel, Patrice Rushen,
and Steve Gadd received honorary doctor of music degrees for their
outstanding contributions to contemporary music, and treated the crowd
to a surprise performance at Berklee College of Music’s 2005 Entering
Student Convocation, Friday, September 9, 2005, at the Berklee
Performance Center. The three honorees, Berklee President Roger
Brown, and Vice President for Student Affairs Lawrence E. Bethune,
welcomed approximately 815 students from more than 75 countries,
at the ceremony.
Steve Gadd, one of the most in-demand drummers in the world, and
who has worked with such artists as Joe Cocker, Stevie Wonder,
Paul Simon, Eric Clapton and Aretha Franklin, among many others,
said after accepting his degree that the honor was extra-special
because he was sharing the moment with Rushen, and Laboriel, two
of his closest musical peers. “This is probably my only chance to get
a honorary degree because I’m not the greatest student in the world,
” said Gadd. “But I love music. I found one thing that I loved and I just
kept on doing it … and if I can do it, I believe you all can do it. Welcome
aboard.”

Mark Cassara is a musician for all generations. Mastery of his
instrument, the saxophone, is exceeded only by his unique sense
of arrangement and prodigious writing talent. His work spans the
musical horizon; it grooves, it flies, it wails, it sings, it soothes and
it rocks, and all with an impeccable sense of rhythm, taste and
musical savvy that satisfies and excites even the most discerning
listener. Check out Mark's site and new CD
Born there on January 4, 1937, and raised in a musical family-
his brother Alex (1935-1982) was a founder of The Platters--Gaynel
began singing professionally with a vocal group at Jefferson
High School.
In 1953 he and baritone singer Curtis Williams joined
The Hollywood Flames, with whom Gaynel wrote and sang
several songs, including "I Know," which later evolved into
the doo-wop classic, "Earth Angel" (whose listed composers
are Gaynel Hodge, Curtis Williams and Jesse Belvin).
In 1954 Curtis Williams went off to form The Penguins and Gaynel
left to put together The Turks. "We called ourselves The Turks because
we were cocky, we thought of ourselves as young Turks," he says.
"During my time with The Turks we started wearing fezzes as a joke,
but Muslims started coming up to us and the fezzes became a political
issue."

The Invictas’ Reunion Tour has been a terrific success. Several of
The Invictas’ shows were sold out, and the band raised thousands
of dollars for Leukemia. The California Brew Haus was filled to
capacity. The dance floor was crowded, people clapped their
hands, and danced up a storm.
